wild woman retreat
rewild yourself in nature and ceremony
Bring out the Wild Woman within.

We're not just a part of nature, we ARE nature.
No different than any other living being on this planet.
We are wild.
Yet, in our "civilized" cultures, we've become removed and disconnected from our Mother Earth.
The one who feeds us.
The one who heals us.
The one who sustains us.
This retreat is to remember, honor and bring back that connection.
Through workshops and ceremonies, we will cleanse, discover and deepen our connection to the wisdom within us and the healing powers around us.
Through being immersed nature, we will relax into its rhythms, quiet our minds and open our intuition.
Through conscious eating, we will remember how the Earth provides freely and abundantly.
Through our time together, we will feel the love, joy and human connection that is vital to life.

ceremonies

Cala Luna
Blue Clay Ceremony & Sun Gazing
The Blue Clay Ceremony, sometimes referred to as the “Avatar” experience, takes place on the beach at sunset. During the ceremony, participants are covered with natural blue clay sourced from the Costa Rican rainforest. This 100% organic clay is known for its healing, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps regenerate skin tissue, exfoliate the skin, and support the body’s natural detoxification process.
As the ceremony unfolds during sunset, participants also engage in sungazing, a practice believed to stimulate and awaken the pineal gland. The pineal gland is associated with the production of serotonin, often called the “feel-good” hormone, as well as melatonin, which regulates sleep. By the end of the experience, participants often report feeling a deep sense of bliss, joy, peace, and calm.

Pura Vida Vibrations
Cacao Ceremony & Sound Journey
Known as the “Food (Or Drink) Of The Gods”... Drinking this beautiful female energy medicine is a heart opening process that connects us directly with our ancestors. The cacao allow us to honour our ancestry line to honour it and to travel inside ourselves. Intentions are set and once consumed, euphoric states are unlocked, negative emotions are released and we are able to connect to ourselves and the loving energy in our body.
We source our organic cacao directly from a local farmer and we prepare the cacao using vegan gluten free ingredients.
After drinking this delicious sacred beverage we can lay down and receive the High Vibrations of our magnificent instruments to help us to go deeper in our journey.

Aya Natan
Temazcal/Sweat Lodge
The word Temazcal comes from the Náhuatl language; temazcalli which means "house of steam". This is a very ancient ritual that takes its origin in prehispanic times of Mesoamerican cultures and North American indigenous traditions.
The sturctures of the temazcal represent the womb of Mother Earth in which sacred hot stones are introduced to generate steam.
When entering this sacred space, we go through a purification & liberation process to be reborn from the earth as new beings. This is a reconnection point with consciousness, mother earth & the universe. The temazcal has many healing properties: It is very good medicine for the skin, the respiratory system, the heart, the digestive system and much more.
where you'll stay
La Senda is a powerful energy center and truly magical place.
As a world-renowned wellness center, surrounded by 74 acres of farmland and home to the world's largest labyrinth, built to amplify the power of two strong opposite charged energy centers, it is sanctuary for those wishing to truly get in touch with their innermost spirit.
A place where personal growth, transformation, spiritual wisdom, nature inclusivity, sustainability, and co-creation of a conscious society are empowered and celebrated.
With its prime location in a valley surrounded by hills, La Senda provides an environment of seclusion.
Here you have the privilege of being surrounded by nature, sheltered within its tropical dry forest, joined by howler monkeys and countless other mammals as you listen to the sweet songs of many tropical birds.

Lodging at Las Hojas
In the middle of the tropical jungle, close to the beneficial energy of the labyrinth, are 9 luxury glamping units.
These units, called Leaves or Hojas in Spanish, are architectural pearls; 4 meter high and 9 meter long (13ft high, 30ft long).
They each have a private, open-air bathroom to fully connect with nature.
A private terrace with view of the forest completes your experience.
They have movable fans, no A/C to enhance good prana and stay connected with Nature.
Except for the numerous monkey families, there are no neighbors, so there is no light pollution, and the night skies are magnificent.

The Labyrinth
The labyrinth, built out of more than 5,000 cactus, is supposed to be the largest in the world; it measures more than 2.5 acres (1 hectare) and the path is almost 2 miles (3 km) long.
Without a doubt it is the only labyrinth in the world which claims 2 centers, a feminine and a masculine one, united in the Vesica Pisces, the point where creation takes place.
Traveling through the labyrinth can serve various purposes.
You can walk it just for fun or for physical exercise.
It can be journeyed for health reasons; by walking it, the biochemistry of the body is readjusted.
Labyrinths have been used around the world in hospitals as a therapeutic tool to heal patients.
You may use it to find a purpose in your life (vision quest) or to go deeper within yourself as part of a meditation to create awareness.
Walking the labyrinth balances your whole physical, mental and spiritual Being. More clarity, light and peace help you to live your life to your full potential.
The labyrinth functions as a huge heart, expanding the electromagnetic field of the site with each “heartbeat”.
All living beings: humans, animals, plants and minerals in La Senda constantly benefit from the influence of this big pulsing heart of energy.

Conscious Eating
La Senda is home to a 100% organic and sustainable vegetable garden, where they grow a considerable variety of vegetables to provide their chefs with fresh and organic ingredients for both their restaurant at Cala Luna Boutique Hotel and the farm-to-table experience at La Senda.
It enables them to not only offer some of the best cuisine in the area, but also give the opportunity to experience the true flavor of natural ingredients, daily freshness, non gmo and no chemicals.
While the cuisine is fusion and not exclusive, they love to prepare tasty vegetarian or vegan meals and can cater to any type of allergies.

The Dome in the Labyrinth
Facing the labyrinth, a 10m (33ft) diameter transparent dome, sitting on a 3m (10ft) raised wooden deck, provides a magnificent view of the labyrinth.
The dome has air conditioning and is where some of the evening events will take place.
At night under a million-star sky, the labyrinth is magically lit, evoking even more the feeling of connectedness with nature and the universe.

frequently asked questions
What is the closest airport?
The closest airport to the retreat is Liberia International Airport (Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport - LIR). It is approximately 1.5 hours away.
How do I get from the airport to the retreat?
From the airport, you have the option of taking a shuttle or renting a car.
If you are looking for a shuttle service, I highly recommend Colibri Transportation owned by Jose Hernandez. He is a friend and neighbor and we use him exclusively when we travel. He speaks both English and Spanish and will have a driver waiting for you outside the airport once you arrive.
His contact number is +506 8303 6782.
I recommended downloading WhatsApp for communication while in Costa Rica.
Another option, especially if you are planning to extend your stay surrounding the retreat, is to rent a car at the airport.
Does the price include everything once we get to the retreat?
Yes! The price includes lodging, meals, workshops and ceremonies.
Is there a cancellation policy?
The retreat pricing is paid in full at the time of booking.
Should you need to cancel, there is a 50% refund (minus transaction fees) available until 90 days prior to the retreat.
After that time, no refund is available.
What should I bring?
I would advise bringing sunscreen or a light covering for the sun and bug spray for the occasional mosquitoes. As it is dry season, it doesn't typically rain this time of year.
You will need a swimsuit for the blue clay ceremony at the beach, closed toe walking shoes for the forest walk and a light dress for the temazcal (something you don't mind getting dirty as we will be sitting on the earth).
